The Backsplash

I took down the Rooster wallpaper border and knew I wanted something simpler for the backsplash so I grabbed some peel and stick tiles. I brought them back to the cottage and the cost of almost $300 to do this little 24sq ft area was eating away at me! So I'm returning the tiles and decided paint is my solution. I have a "scheme" going and I'd like to have it all matching everywhere. Here is a before shot...

I tsp'd the tiles. Gross! Everything has a greasy film on it here. Not sure if it's due to the cigarette smoke as we've thrown out close to 20 ashtrays... Or the fireplace... I have a ton of black high gloss which will work for the "scheme"... ;) Also decided to paint out the cream stove. 

First coat on the stove... The side is red and the front is black. 

Next I'm tackling the fridge and dishwasher!
